The final panel for the 13th Breakfast Rounds

The 13th Breakfast Rounds are mere days away. Let’s start the home stretch with the outstanding panel for the final hearing of the Breakfast Rounds: On 5 April, the final arguments at the 13th Breakfast Rounds will be heard by Ms. Anna Masser, Prof. Petra Butler and Ms. Ann Ryan Robertson.
Anna Masser heads Allen & Overy’s arbitration practice in Germany and focuses on international commercial arbitration, as arbitrator and party representative.
She is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and a CEDR Accredited Mediator. WWL ranks her as Global Leader in International arbitration. 
A participant for the University of Heidelberg and coach of many for the University of Zurich, she is no stranger to the Vis.
Petra Butler is a professor at Victoria University of Wellington, a German qualified lawyer and a New Zealand barrister with Kate Sheppard Chambers.
She specialises in domestic and international human rights, public and private comparative law, and international commercial law with an emphasis on international commercial contracts and dispute resolution.
Professor Butler coached a winning team for the Willem C. Vis Moot at the Victoria University of Wellington and arbitrated the final hearing at the 27th Willem C. Vis Moot in 2020.
Ann Ryan Robertson is an International Partner for Locke Lord LLP. She serves as arbitrator and counsel in international and domestic arbitrations in a variety of complex business disputes across a number of industries. 
She has been named to Global Arbitration Review’s “Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration” since 2015 and to “The Best Lawyers in America, International Arbitration/Governmental” since 2014.
For nine years, Ms. Ryan Robertson served the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), most recently as global President for the year 2021.
For a number of years, she has been an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center and coached the Law Center’s Willem C. Vis Moot team for almost two decades.
It will take 35 hearings on come Monday and Tuesday to know which teams will face off in the final of the 13th Breakfast Rounds. One thing is for sure: An exciting panel awaits. We are looking forward to it.

Welcome aboard, Eric. Thank you for joining us!

Eric Ives is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group at White & Case LLP. He first joined the Columbia Law School Willem C. Vis Moot team in 2016 as a 1L on the briefs in the 24th Moot, helping his team win the Eric E. Bergsten Prize for Claimant's Memorial that year. He then competed in the oral rounds in the 25th Moot as a 2L where his team advanced to the Round of 8 and he earned an Honorable Mention for his oral advocacy. He remains an avid supporter of the moot and looks forward to the Problem each year.
